Crafty, Crafty, Crafty!

I was very crafty over my Fall Break!
I made a couple of trips to Michael's, a trip to Target, and a trip to Home Depot.
I gathered my paint, scrapbook paper, felt, hot glue, and the mod podge.
I painted, cut, and glued.

I created!

Enjoy!!

:-)

Remember those empty canvases above me bed?

Here they are now!

One of my favorite things that I have made so far!
Coasters!
So much fun, simple, and can have any design you want on it!

This is my favorite so far!
Map hearts on canvas.
They are places that I have lived in or been able to serve in.
I hope to be able to add to this in the future. :-)
This is hanging in my kitchen!

Have you created anything lately or is there anything that you are hoping to create in the future?

Fall Is Here Once Again

I sit here writing this post from my comfy bed.
Under the covers, listening to Pandora, drinking coffee out of my NOLA cup.
A pretty good way to start a Saturday, don't you think?

I love Fall!
It seriously has to be my favorite season.
It usually comes with the perfect weather, just jeans and a t-shirt or light long sleeve shirt.
The past couple of days however, it has been COLD.
I walked out of my apartment seriously underestimating how cold it was.
Not only that, but it was overcast and dreary.
Not, good fall weather.

But today, on this Saturday, it is bright and blue outside!
Temperatures are rising today, but won't be that bad.
Best for jeans and a t-shirt.
I hope I find something fun to do outside, so it doesn't go to waste.
:-)

The past couple of days I have been on Fall Break from school.
For me, it started Tuesday night and has been going since.
I have thoroughly been enjoying this break. Although, I do still have an article to find by Monday and a mock interview and test on Thursday.
But, this coming week is going to be great for some other reasons and I will be sure to tell all about it...later!
:-)

Earlier this week, my friend and I went to Lake Nicol
It is one of my favorite places in Tuscaloosa, no doubt.
This time, we went to the other side where there are the cliffs.
The fall colors can greatly be seen there!
Here are some pics from that trip.

Enjoy!

Super Senior Year So Far

Hey Everyone!
I thought that for a post today I would share some pictures from this Fall so far.

This is my last year in college, my fifth year.
Like we call it: The Victory Lap, Super Senior Year!

So far, it has been great!
I have really been enjoying it
and
I'm excited to see where God leads me after next semester and graduation.

Enjoy these pictures from the year so far!
:-)

Fall Retreat 2011 -- Camp Hargis

Lake Nicol. One of my favorite places in Tuscaloosa.

Cooking with friends!

Lion King 3D! All, but four, in the theater were college kids that night. It was amazing!
We sang, we danced, we cried.
We relived our childhood.

Summer Snow! Complete with Paper Shea.
(My best friend who is going to school and living in Denver now.)

And of course, Alabama Football!
Roll Tide!

If you have already graduated college, what is your favorite memory from that time?
Or, if you are still in school, what has been your greatest memory so far?

Just Pin It

Okay, raise your hand if you are addicted to Pinterest.

*Raises hand*

I am definitely one to admit that I love, love, love Pinterest!

There is seriously something on there for everyone, something that you love,
or something that you will want in the future!

It is crazy. I have to allow myself only a certain amount of time to be on there
or
else I will look down and realize that I have been re-pinning things
for the past five hours.

It can be a problem.

But, I love looking at all the things that are on there.

The food.
 The clothes.
 The backyards.
 The wedding dresses.
 The photography.
The DIY crafts.

So many ideas flow out of Pinterest and thanks to that website,
my creative juices have been flowing.

Here is my first result of being crafty after browsing Pinterest.

Autumn Wreath

This isn't the best picture (it was taken from my phone).

But, the wreath that I got the idea from actually had burlap as the cover and for the flowers.
I only have a Michael's here in town right now (the Hobby Lobby got destroyed in the tornado)  and  I didn't find burlap there.
So, instead I bought felt in colors that I wanted and used that.
The covering is felt and the flowers are made from felt.
I then added the buttons in the middle of the flowers.

Now, for my favorite part of this wreath, it is a foam wreath.
So, I hot glued safety pins on the back of the flowers and then was able to place the flowers on the wreath wherever I liked them.
This allows me easily take them out and replace them with another fun decoration or different color flowers. And since I chose a beige color as the background, I can create anything and it will go.

An easily changeable wreath for any season!
:-)

Have you been crafty lately?
Is there anything that you have been wanting to do?

And Pinterest lovers, don't forget to raise your hand!

Living the Apartment Life

Wow. So, I really haven't posted in awhile, like over a month.
I would blame it all on the fact that I have been busy with school and church things, but honestly, it has also been because I haven't felt like blogging.

But, I am back and hopefully I will be posting, at least something, a little more regularly.
:-)

For today, I would like to show you around my apartment! There is no more dorm life for me!
I moved into my place in August and I am loving it! I am living by myself right now, which definitely took some getting used to.

So, enjoy this picture tour around my apartment!

My welcome mat outside!
Dining room area, but since I don't have a table, it is my office!

My patio area

I have to say that my favorite area (besides my bed) is my patio area. I love to be outside, so it is a favorite spot.
I have hung up some more stuff than what is seen in some of these pictures.
If you noticed, the canvas's above my bed are blank. I have plans for them, just haven't been able to do it yet.
I also want to paint something on a canvas for my kitchen and I have some pencil sketches of New Orleans that I am going to frame and hang in my bathroom/vanity area.
I have some thoughts about what to do on my patio as well.
There are a lot of things I want to do, I just have to be creative and get to it!

:-)
P.S. I might post a video tour later. We will see. ;-)
