tunes-Day Tuesday: I Will Wait

I am not creative enough to come up with that post title. It was taken from a blog that I read. Pretty much every Tuesday, they post a song/video that they like to share and pass on. They also do awesome DIY projects and have hair, makeup, and clothes tips.
It's a really cute blog!
Go check them out at: OH SO PRETTY the DIARIES

I was introduced to Mumford & Sons earlier this year and I love listening to their music.
This is a new single off their new album due out in September.
It was released this week.

Enjoy!

12 Days Until Christmas

I can hardly believe that there are only 12 days until Christmas!
This year has seen a lot and has taught me a lot.
I can only imagine what next year is going to bring.

I'll be sharing some more of my Christmas favorites in the coming days, but
in honor of there being 12 days until this great holiday, today I am sharing two of my favorite versions of the classic song, 12 Days of Christmas.

Enjoy.
:-)

The first is by the band, Relient K. They have always been a favorite of mine and always put their own twist onto their covers. This one is no exception.
:-)

This next cover of the classic song is by the A Cappella group, Straight No Chaser.
They are a great group that has done many awesome covers and originals. You can find a bunch of their stuff on YouTube.
:-)

What is your favorite Christmas song?

'Tis the Season to Turn My Eyes Upon Jesus

One of my most favorite hymns is "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus."

The words spoken in this hymn are some of the truest ever spoken and give us a declaration to go out and tell the world of what Jesus has done for us.

There is no better season or time, than for us to turn our eyes to Him and proclaim His great name.

Enjoy this short little snippet of this wonderful hymn by Hillsong United.

And the full set of lyrics is below the video.

:-)

O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There's light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free!

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there;
Over us sin no more has dominion --
For more than conquerors we are!

His Word shall not fail you -- He promised;
Believe Him, and all will be well:
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell!

Journey of Singleness -- To Whom It May Concern, I'm Waiting Patiently

I have recently been listening to this duo called, The Civil Wars.
They are absolutely amazing together.
The sounds and voices that come from these two are wonderful.

I know that all may not like this style of music, but it is worth a listen, just to see what you might think.

This song is called, 'To Whom It May Concern.'

You can only guess what it is about, but it goes well with the journey of singleness.

Enjoy!

:-)

Why are you so far from me?
In my arms is where you ought to be.
How long will you make me wait?
I don't know how much more I can take.

I've missed you
But I haven't met you
Oh, but I want to
How I do

Slowly counting down the days
'Til I finally know your name
The way your hand feels 'round my waist
The way you laugh, the way your kisses taste

I've missed you
But I haven't met you
Oh, but I want to
How I do
How I do

I've missed you
But I haven't met you
Oh, how I miss you
But I haven't met you
Oh, but I want to
Oh, but I want to

Dear whoever you might be
I'm still waiting patiently

P.S. Clicking on "The Civil Wars" up top will take you to their official website where you can get a free download of their song, 'Barton Hollow'. Which is also another great song. :-)

Football, Concerts and Barn Dances to Infinity

Warning: This post contains MANY pictures! :-)

Last post, I said that the upcoming weekend was going to be a good one!
And it was!

First, not this past Friday, but the one before, I was able to see one of my favorite bands in concert.
I don't get to go to concerts very often, so whenever I have the opportunity, I will take it.

NEEDTOBREATHE was in Tuscaloosa the Friday before the Alabama/LSU football game.
Talk about an awesome start to a great weekend! My friends and I were about 7 rows back as well!
Ben Rector opened up for them and this was my first time seeing him.
He was really good and I loved listening to his music. I got to meet him afterwards as well!
:-)

Next, last Saturday we played against LSU.
Despite the outcome of the game, it was a good day.
Definitely one of the best games I have been to since being at Bama.
We fought hard.
I had a couple of friends come into town and they stayed at my apartment.
Which, I loved! It was so good to have people in the apartment!
I also got to see one of my friends that I worked beside in NOLA. I hadn't seen him since we left in August!

Me and Cody!

The Quad on LSU Saturday. There were people everywhere!
We had an estimated extra 240,000 people in town!

And this is 3 1/2 hours before kickoff!

Now, fast forward to this past week!
This past Friday we had our annual FBC/BCM Barn Dance!
It is one of my favorite events during the year and I'm glad that I was able to go this year.
This is my last Barn Dance, but it was a great one!
                                                                                :-)

Me and Sarah!
It was her first Barn Dance!

Me and Rebecca!
A Barn Dance isn't complete without IBC Root Beer!

Now for today.
Bama is playing away and that means that I didn't have to wake up early or be anywhere today.
It is always nice to have Saturdays like that.
I woke up and then stayed in my bed...for many hours....
I grabbed my computer and then had tabs open on Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, and Hulu.
I would definitely classify it has a lazy Saturday.
But, I did complete another DIY project.
It is an Infinity Scarf, made out of an old t-shirt!
I found this project thanks again to Pinterest! It was super easy and I love the way it turned out!
Can't wait to wear it!

Now, I'm at my friend's apartment watching the Bama game!
Roll Tide!

Hope you enjoyed this post and all the many pictures!!

Our God

Our God

Water You turned into wine
Open the eyes of the blind
There's no one like You
None like You
Into the darkness You shining
Out of the ashes we rise
There's no one like You
None like You

Our God is greater, our God is stronger
God You are higher than any other
Our God is Healer, awesome and power
Our God, Our God...

Into the darkness you shining
Out of the ashes we Rise
There's no One like You
None like You.

Our God is greater, our God is stronger
God You are higher than any other
Our God is Healer, awesome and power
Our God, Our God...
Our God is greater, our God is stronger
God You are higher than any other
Our God is Healer, awesome and power
Our God, Our God...

And if Our God is for us, then who could ever stop us
And if our God is with us, then what can stand against?
And if Our God is for us, then who could ever stop us
And if our God is with us, then what can stand against?
What can stand against?

Our God is greater, our God is stronger
God You are higher than any other
Our God is Healer, awesome and power
Our God, Our God...
Our God is greater, our God is stronger
God You are higher than any other
Our God is Healer, awesome and power
Our God, Our God...

And if Our God is for us, then who could ever stop us
And if our God is with us, then what can stand against?
And if Our God is for us, then who can ever stop us
And if our God is with us, then what can stand against?
Then what can stand against?
Then what can stand against?

Our God is greater, our God is stronger
God You are higher than any other
Our God is Healer, awesome and power
Our God, Our God...
Our God is greater, our God is stronger
God You are higher than any other
Our God is Healer, awesome and power
Our God, Our God...

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

This hymn was written in 1922 by Helen. H. Lemmel

This is a short, but I love it. It is Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus by Hillsong United

"...fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him He endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."

Wednesday Ramblings

I am very excited that Christmas season is here!
We have so many gifts under our tree ready to give people! I am sooo beyond ready for people to open their gifts!
:-)

Tonight is technically our Christmas Eve here at home! Because on Friday, we will be heading to Memphis to spend Christmas with the family. Who I am very excited and ready to see!
:-)

I probably won't be doing a lot of posting in the next couple of days because of being gone and enjoying Christmas with friends and such.

There are a couple of posts that I will plan and schedule though. Very short and quick posts with a song and video included, that I love and that are very encouraging to me and I hope to you as well.
So, if you are going to be looking through blogs in the next couple of days, be sure to check those out.
:-)

Merry Christmas!!!!

Redletter Affair!

I am going to do a little promoting for my friends right now.

Ryan, Andy, Brian, and Josh all make up a band called by the name Redletter Affair! They are really getting started right now, but already have many fans because of our college ministry at First Baptist Tuscaloosa. They have a new song out right now called "By Your Side". You can check it out at their MySpace page, here.

Also, tonight they are playing at their first show at H2O at Prattmont Baptist Church in Prattville, Alabama. You can learn more about that event, here, or here. If you are in Alabama, or near this event, you should come and check it out. I have a feeling that it is going to be huge. Which is where a lot of you come in, especially if you are not in the Alabama area.

You can pray. Prayer is a wonderful thing, and can make huge impacts! If you are not able to make it tonight, please pray for Redletter Affair and all the people that will be at H2O. Pray that people's hearts will be receptive of God's Word and His love for them. Pray that the band, and all of us following them down there, will have a safe and fun trip. Most importantly though, just pray that someone will come to know the Lord tonight as His story is brought. Pray for the speaker that he will be able to speak the words that the Lord gives to him. Pray that they will have a record turn out at H2O tonight, and that people's lives will be changed drastically for the better, forever. Prayer is a great thing, and God really listens to those who pray in His name.

I hope that you check out the band, and if you are in the area, that you come out and support the band and what Prattmont Baptist Church is doing. We all really appreciate it, and we all do this for the Lord. Thanks!
